Recover a Host
Start with:
terminal-ios-host status
terminal-ios-host doctor
Record the exact visible error. Do not edit generated identity, certificate, or credential files to work around a failed check.
Common recovery paths
- Lost or revoked iPhone: create a fresh one-time QR on the host. An expired QR is not a recovery credential and cannot be reused.
- Host identity, certificate, or trusted-ingress error: keep ingress inactive and rerun the signed activation or renewal path for your platform.
- Damaged installation: reinstall the same accepted package and verify its receipt before attempting an update.
- Reboot leaves the host unavailable: preserve status and doctor output, then contact support.
Restore requires a complete authenticated backup and the customer-held recovery secret. Support cannot decrypt a backup or replace a lost secret. Restore only to the host and platform described by its instructions, then rerun doctor and physical iPhone reconnect checks.
Windows + WSL2 recovery instructions are not publicly available while that profile remains an unavailable future beta. Do not apply engineering procedures to a Mac installation.
Never share credentials, pairing material, private keys, terminal content, or an unredacted support bundle.
