Commercial v1 targets one host profile: an Apple-silicon Mac. Check downloads before beginning; launch-target status does not guarantee that a public installer is available today.

Use an Apple-silicon Mac running macOS 15 or later.

Next planned independent profile

Ubuntu 24.04 LTS on amd64 is planned next. It has its own future evidence and publication gate and does not block the Mac release.

Native Linux status

Future beta

Windows 11 with an Ubuntu 24.04 LTS WSL2 guest is retained as a future beta. It is unavailable, is not commercial-v1 support, and does not block the Mac release.

Windows + WSL2 availability status

Native Windows has no release commitment. Work begins only after a separate owner decision based on demand.

None of these future profiles has a public installer or may be inferred from the macOS package.

What every setup needs

An iPhone running iOS 17 or later.
Current Tailscale sign-in on the iPhone and Mac.
A terminal workflow already installed and configured on the host.
One accepted host package from an active official channel.

Codex CLI is the setup-validated AI workflow today. Provider-neutral shell-only setup requires no Codex executable and can run other host-installed command-line tools. Claude Code and Gemini CLI remain provider-specific validation in progress. Terminal iOS does not bundle an AI tool or change its account, configuration, plugins, credentials, projects, or shell dotfiles; those remain on the host.
