Update the Host

Update only from the active official channel for your installed host profile. Never use a package for another platform or a file from a guessed URL.

Before updating

  1. Read the release notes and confirm that the package matches your platform.
  2. Verify its version, size, digest, publisher, and other channel details.
  3. Create a current encrypted backup and keep the previous accepted package.
  4. Run terminal-ios-host status and terminal-ios-host doctor.

Follow the release-specific macOS update command. Future Ubuntu-native, the Windows + WSL2 beta, and native-Windows packages have independent boundaries and are not commercial-v1 update inputs.

The updater suspends ingress, applies the accepted package, validates the service and trusted-ingress readback, and resumes only after the new generation is healthy. A failed transaction must restore the known-good generation or leave ingress inactive.

After updating

terminal-ios-host doctor

Then verify iPhone reconnect, input, output, scrollback, background and foreground recovery, and force-close and relaunch. Keep the previous accepted package until those checks pass.
